National Commission
on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education
NCOPE is the accreditation body for the orthotics and prosthetics (O&P)
profession. As such, its primary mission and obligation is to ensure
that educational and residency programs meet the minimum standards of
quality to prepare individuals to enter the O&P profession. NCOPE serves
in cooperation with the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health
Education Programs (CAAHEP) for accreditation of educational programs.
CAAHEP is a nationally recognized non-profit organization that accredits
educational programs in 17 allied health disciplines. The CAAHEP system
currently accredits 1,300 allied health education programs across the
nation.

Dan McKeever Scholarship Program of the Orthotic and Prosthetic Education
and Development Fund at the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists
"This
program provides grants to individuals who are pursuing an education
in orthotics and prosthetics. Each year the program will award $1000
to three deserving O&P baccalaureate students. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants
must be rising seniors in an accredited O&P bachelors degree program
as well as (1) demonstrate a financial need, (2) display leadership
qualities, (3) contribute to their own education financially, (4) maintain
a GPA of at least 3.0.
